Minky's

I made these two minky blankets for a girlfriend who is due with a boy soon. This was my first time and thanks to Jenny at iCraft, it was a breeze!

Jumper

I found this cool book called One Yard Wonders, which is great for me since I'm always collecting fabric in one yard increments, and there was a pattern for a classic jumper. I love this jumper. It was fun and easy to make, and my daughter loves it.

A Lazy Sunday

I am having a lazy sunday sans my kids who are off swimming with dad. I have been finishing up some little 1/2 aprons and doing some blog hunting. Nicole at Stitchcraft in Petaluma http://www.stitchcraftonline.com/ put me onto bloglines http://www.bloglines.com/, a site where you can just track new headlines of your favorite blogs. I love it and I have started loading up some of my favorite blogs to keep up with. I am also starting to look for some local spring craft shows to do--which means researching about craft shows, requesting applications or filling them out online. All of this is new for me and I really have no idea how to go about it? My biggest challenge is finding someone to partner up with to share a table and table fees. I would like to find someone else who has an etsy shop and makes kids stuff. A friend suggested I partner with another mom who also makes cute childrens things...But, after meeting her on FB I learned that she lives in Idaho. Even though we can't team up for craft shows, it was nice to meet another crafter. Last, I wanted to share about a blog I found on Etsy. Thanks Rebecca for suggesting Sacto street team. You inspired me to search out SF Etsy Street Team http://sfetsy.blogspot.com/ All I have done so far is spent some time on their blog, but it is nice to find other local etsy crafters. Well, soon I am off to Barnes and Noble to see if any of the new Sommerset craft magazines are out before I do my weekly grocery shopping at TJ's. Happy Sunday

Hey Crafy Mommas!
My name is Rebecca Detrick and i will actually post an introduction soon, but I wanted to give you guys this info, because I think it's great!

Etsy and Moo are doing a joint promotion where you can order 50 free business cards if you allow them to put their logos on it too - they look really nice - I just ordered mine! I'll let you know how they turn out. they also offer at the end, if you pre pay part of your next order, they'll match it - i put in $6 so I have a $12 credit toward a new order....kinda fun!

Vanny Makes Aprons

I have been spending some time trying to narrow down some of my apron choices to try to make it easier to sew more things productively--yeesh. Anyway, now I am just going to make two apron styles in three sizes, 18months -2T, 2t-5t and a one size half apron. Trying to come up with a formulaic way to make aprons has been a challenge for me because it is not as much fun as sewing up new things, but I think it will make things easier for MAD Stitches in the long run. This is one of the full aprons in the 18month size. It is sewn out of one of Joanne Fabrics quilt kits--I would not have thought to put these colors together, but it is now one of my favorite combinations. I am also trying to apply to some local craft shows. I need to print out some applications and get moving. I would like to apply to one big show this year and then do more small craft fairs. This is a picture of the Avery Holiday Craft Fair.
